Delivery, VAT and buying from abroad
The total we compare is the price plus the delivery cost the store gives us, both including VAT.
All prices include VAT at the rates in Norway. Delivery is shown separately, and we show a total only when we know the delivery cost.
An offer with an unknown delivery cost never comes before an offer with a known total.
When a VAT rate changes, the price chart marks it, and a price change caused by VAT is never counted as a discount.
We never convert prices within a country. Where we show a price from another country, we convert it with an indicative exchange rate and say so.
Prices from stores abroad
A price from a store in the EU becomes comparable once VAT and import costs are added. We add them, and rank the store by that total.
A store registered in VOEC charges Norwegian VAT at checkout for items up to 3 000 kr excluding VAT. The limit applies per item, not per order.
For other items, and for stores not registered in VOEC, VAT of 25 % is charged on import, plus the carrier's handling fee, which we estimate at 199 kr.
Some goods also carry customs duty, for example 10,7 % on clothing. Where we do not know the duty for a type of product, the total we show is marked as a minimum.
VOEC does not cover food, supplements, medicines, alcohol, tobacco, weapons or other goods with excise duty.
